Ice skating is one of the most expensive sports in the world with the average competitive skater spending an eye watering £35,000-50,000 a year on training, competition fees, travel, outfits, equipment, accommodation away from home, test fees, membership, athletic conditioning fees to name but a few.
British Ice Skating, the UK’s national body for Ice Skating, does not provide funding.
Each international competition comes with an average £1,800 price tag and we have 6 international competitions due this season, which increases our total yearly expenditure by approximately £10,800.

It has been over 30 years since GB has produced ice dance champions – not because of lack of talent, but mainly because of lack of financial backing.
We are looking for businesses who are willing to place their faith in us to invest time, effort and energy into developing our blue print for future growth, and sustainable success that will lead us to the Olympics & World Championships and WIN!
Our blue print for the future is ice dance development but also community support that will enable many more to enter and compete in the figure skating world. We have a burning desire and need to build for our future and are looking to develop partnerships with businesses. We are looking for individuals and businesses who are prepared to actively support us by offering time, effort and energy as well as help us with fundraising ideas.
Although we are very young, our profile within the international ice skating world is rapidly building up with promotional and exposure opportunities for all of our business partners, which would give you something tangible back for your support.

If sponsorship or donations are not your style, why not consider buying from us? We are trying to reduce our use of plastic and chemical products and have a range of home made beeswax wraps and lip balms for sale.
Beeswax wraps are ideal for packed lunches and can be reused for 3 to 6 months, depending on usage, after which you can either send them back to us to re-coat or you can simply compost them. You will have saved at least 100 plastic bags from being used and thrown away.
All our handmade lip balms are made of 100% natural ingredients and are pesticide free. In the future, we are hoping we will also be able to supply our lip balms in environmentally friendly containers.
Purchasing our products will give you peace of mind that you are making a small contribution towards reducing your use of plastic, ensure that your lips stay healthy throughout the year, and, most importantly, help us with our training and competition costs.
